Michigan Assistive Technology Program
The MATP is a federally funded initiative that aims to increase access to, and knowledge of, Assistive Technology (AT) throughout Michigan. The program is dedicated to serving individuals with disabilities, their families, and communities, as well as businesses and organizations that support people with disabilities.
What is AT?
Assistive Technology (AT) includes any tools, software, or apps that help individuals with disabilities, including older adults, perform tasks they wish to accomplish.

AT Access
AT Demonstrations
Demonstrations help people make decisions on what type of Assistive Technology will best meet their needs by comparing and contrasting different device features. Demonstrations take place following a discussion with an AT Specialist. To schedule a no-cost demonstration, contact MATP staff by phone at 800-578-0280 or fill out the demonstration request form.
AT Device Loans
Someone who has participated in a demonstration may also participate in an AT device loan; meaning they can borrow devices for a length of time agreed upon with MATP staff and those needing access to a device. this often helps with the decision-making process.
Other Ways MATP Can Help Include:
Providing information through phone calls and emails, by providing trainings, working with businesses and organizations, and increasing awareness of AT through social media, presentations, and community activities.

Assistive Technology Act
MATP services are made possible by the Assistive Technology (AT) Act. The AT Act mandates that each state and U.S. territory provide services to help individuals with disabilities gain better access to and understanding of assistive technologies.
The MATP is a federally-funded program. It is designed to increase access to, and knowledge of, Assistive Technology (AT) for all of Michigan with focus on reaching people with disabilities, their friends and family, as well as others who support people with disabilities, like businesses and organizations. MDRC is proud to serve as the implementing agency for Michigan. Michigan Rehabilitation Services (MRS) serves as the LEAD agency.
