AT Demonstrations

Demonstrations help people make decisions on what type of Assistive Technology will best meet their needs by comparing and contrasting different device features. Demonstrations take place following a discussion with an AT Specialist. To schedule a no-cost demonstration, contact MATP staff by phone at 800-578-0280 or fill out the demonstration request form.

OurVision

AT Device Loans

Someone who has participated in a demonstration may also participate in an AT device loan; meaning they can borrow devices for a length of time agreed upon with MATP staff and those needing access to a device. this often helps with the decision-making process.

Other Ways MATP Can Help Include:

Providing information through phone calls and emails, by providing trainings, working with businesses and organizations, and increasing awareness of AT through social media, presentations, and community activities.

MATP Values

Services are provided for people with disabilities, by people with disabilities.

We prioritize underserved communities and address the disparities of access to assistive technology in communities of color.

We serve people of any age, and in all areas of life, with a focus on living in the community.

AT use can be part of what makes a person who they are. We understand that AT can be a part of disability pride.

People with disabilities should be able to live in their communities, with support, which often includes AT.

We help people find ways to pay for AT if they are not able to.

We fight for and support all people to feel included; we are not controlled by the limits of current disability laws.

We provide many ways for people to access the AT Program, understanding this can take more staff time and effort.

Assistive Technology Act

The MATP is made possible because of the Assistive Technology (AT) Act. The AT Act says that each of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, 4 US Territories, and Puerto Rico provide services for people with disabilities to know more about, have better access to, and help to find ways to obtain AT devices.
